December 2020 - Helix Monthly Results
We had 37 players come out to the Helix Disc Golf Monthly at Palm Royale Country Club in La Quinta on Saturday, December 5, 2020. That is the most people we’ve had out here since the 2020 Ice Bowl! The sport is definitely growing out here in the desert and everyone loves the temp course at Palm Royale. We sure hope it can be permanent someday, so these monthlies are the best way to show interest in new courses in the Coachella Valley.
We played the course as a par-55 layout this time, stretching out hole 12 to a fun par-4 that was gettable for just about everyone in the field. We like to mix up the basket positions a little each time and experiment with alternate layout options in case we ever run a PDGA-sanctioned tournament here.
The Intermediate Division was stacked with 23 players, so we were able to pay out to seven places. All the prize winners are listed below:
